“Space + Spirituality”

Naos

My senior capstone collection focuses on the interrelation of spirituality and space as well as our responsibility to preserve each as we move forward in an ever-developing world. I am honored to announce this collection was one of five finalists in the Hypebeast Commencement Program, chosen to be presented alongside the seniors' work at Academia del Lusso Roma, and won the Director's Choice Award for Fashion Design in my graduating class.

“Men’s Print and Pattern”

Fool’s Paradice (In Development)

The global landscape is undergoing major political, social, environmental, and economical shifts, leading many into spirals of fear and uncertainty. As we navigate these uncharted waters, we want to keep in mind that we can accomplish more when we work together. The creative possibilities are boundless when two or more minds come together, be it in consolation, solidarity, brainstorming, or to simply enjoying each other’s company. There is beauty to be discovered in the joining of separate ideas that will create something previously unimagined.

“Peace Amidst Chaos”

Tranquility

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself (like many others) back in my parents house trying to grapple with the chaos of the outside world. Locked inside the comfort of my childhood home, I felt a conflicting sense of nostalgia and childish blissfulness mixed with an existential dread about the virus and the tumultuous job market I was about to enter. To comfort myself, I sketched and journaled my feelings, much like I did back in middle school, often resorting to bubbly, curly letters as I did back then. I reconnected with old friends and distanced myself from others. Neck-breaking change was a daily reality.

“Modular Clothing as a Form of Art”

Humoresque

Humoresque is a collection that allows the wearer to take full control of how they dress themselves. This collection is driven by the inclusivity, theatricality, + versatility of fluxus art in which the act of getting dressed becomes a form of performance art. The garments can be manipulated to take on new silhouettes through fastenings, ties, + grommets, meaning that a single garment can take on the role of three or more separate pieces. The process of altering + transforming the garments becomes a performance, thus each piece has been titled like a piece of fluxus art.

“Space Inspires Sport”

During my time as an intern at Final Frontier Design, we collaborated with Jam3 on a promotional campaign for the new Adidas Boost sneaker, celebrating Adidas’s new partnership with the International Space Station. As a part of this campaign, it was our job to create a space suit to be worn with the sneakers as the team at Jam3 toured with the Houston Rockets.
